Meet The Recruits: Jordan Lockyer
- Monday, 09 February 2015
Lockyer is the third ex-AFL player joining the Lions this year alongside Sam Menegola and Michael Wood.
At 22 years of age Lockyer has plenty of time to show everyone what he is capable of after injuries curtailed his time at the Swans. The tall, athletic defender is half way through an impressive pre-season and could offer alternatives for Jarrad Schofield’s back-line.
Originally drafted from West Perth in the second round of the 2011 AFL Draft Lockyer was touted as an smart transition player and we’re hoping he can display his talents at the Lions in 2015.
Q&A with JORDAN LOCKYER
The standard “Locks “ or “Jaw”. Nothing too exciting.
Why do you love football?
I’ve always grown up playing footy, my families always played footy so it was always going to be the sport for me.
What is your favourtie position?
I’m probably enjoying defence the most at the moment but I don’t mind making my way forwards or being pinch hit players in the midfield.
Favourite moment in football so far?
First impression of the Subiaco Lions?
What are your goals for 2015?
The boys talk about the success of last year and I saw a lot of hype from their 2014 season and I would love to be a part of replicating that experience.
