Gooch Backs Galen
Former Subiaco Football Club player and successful sports administrator Scott Gooch has signed up as the 2024 Player Sponsor for #2 Galen Savigni - an inspired decision with Galen turning in a best on ground performance last week against West Perth.
The reliable backmen looks set to have a massive year as he continues to mature and build on a strong 2023 season and become one of the best defenders in the WAFL.
Gooch was recruited to Subiaco from Warwick JFC in the early 90's and played 42 League games for the Lions as well as being a Foundation Fremantle Dockers selection in 1994. Gooch's promising football career was cut short through injury but he went on to a career in sports administration with roles at The Hopman Cup, CEO of Perth Glory, West Coast Eagles and CCO of the Fremantle Dockers.
Recently he started a Sports Partnership Business called Playbook X and helped deliver the Sullivan Logisitics naming rights deal for both Leederville Oval clubs.
In a nice twist, both Gooch and Savigni started their football journeys at Warwick (Greenwood) JFC before coming to Subiaco.
