The Subiaco Football Club have secured two Victorian recruits for the 2014 season with Matt Boland and Lachlan Delahunty joining the Lions.
Adding some extra height to the squad; the two VFL stars will bolster the Lions talent pool as they push for finals contention..
Matt Boland has been described as a key forward player who showed great potential for Parkdale and the Collingwood reserves; whilst Lachlan Delahunty is a tall utility who has proven his abilities on the wings for Frankston.
Football Operations Manager Luke Sanders is delighted with the two new East Coast imports believing they can play key roles for the club.
“Matt Boland will straighten us up down forward, he’ll be able to be a key target, he’s got goal kicking ability that he showed in the VFL and for the Parkdale football club. “
“Delahunty will provide some run and carry; he’s got good endurance and he’ll be able to play as a forward and higher up the ground on the wing and through the midfield. “
The two Victorians have been training with the Lions for a week with Sanders stating they’ve intergrated within the team seamlessly.
“They’ve immersed themselves well. They came across a month ago prior to the start of pre-season and met the leadership group and the board. They’ve intergrated seamlessly amongst the group.
