Subiaco Football Club head coach Jarrad Schofield is set to enter his second pre-season as the man with the top job.
In his debut season as league coach, Schofield instilled a dynamic presence in an attempt to combine Subiaco's proven veterans with a host of young stars.
Despite only winning six games; the Lions league side showed glimpses of brilliance in 2013 which was encapsulated by the round 11 win over the previously unbeaten Claremont Tigers.
Now settled in and with a year of experience under his belt Schofield looks to integrate a solid work ethic into his team for the 2014 season.
"Were looking for guys to bring a good attitude to commit to the program this pre-season." said Schofield
"The goal is to improve on the players' fitness and strength levels compared to last year and increase the general fitness level across the group. Along with that; our aim is to put on some physical size and strength for our younger players."
With a strew of new recruits and an earlier start; Schofield is hoping to hit the 2014 season in prime condition.
"We have a lot more numbers than we did last year; which is great because we've got plenty of guys who are keen to get on board at Subiaco."
"In terms of structure we won't change too much from last year; if anything we're starting four weeks earlier to get a head start. We've also tweaked our conditioning program slightly to get the optimum results from our squad come season start.
With the season looming over the Christmas break; the early start for the Lions should go a long way in developing the rich depth of talent and could prove to be the pre-cursor for a successful 2014 season.
