Stewart takes out Mitchell Medal

Kalgoorlie's Alex Stewart has won the 2012 Mitchell Medal for the Goldfields Football League Fairest and Best award.
Stewart won ahead of Clint Brunnenmeyer (34 votes), Aaron Rymer (29), Chris Adams (25) and Chayne George (23).
Kalgoorlie cleaned up the majority of the awards on Monday night with Chris Burrows winning the Don Jones Medal for the Reserves Fairest and Best, while Brandon Higgins took out the Len Stokes Award for the Colts.
Ryan McDonald was awarded the Rookie of the Year award. McDonald was also recognised as the Macgregor Medallist for Fairest and Best in the grand final of the Great Southern Carnival.
Former West Coast Eagle Adam Hunter (Boulder) won the League goal-kicking trophy for his 49 goals across the season.
Russell Cowie and Vanderplank shared the Reserves honours with 44-apiece.
Last year's Subiaco development squad member Liam Ellis won the Colts goal kicking after a 17-goal haul on the final weekend of the season to have 63 next to his name.
Railways took home the George Krepp Memorial trophy as the Champion Club in seniors and juniors.
Mitch Graham (Mines) and Irene Hall (Boulder) received Goldfields Football League Honorary Membership.
Gary O'Donnell was recognised as the league's Umpire of the Year.
