Subiaco Soar Past Peel with 52 point win

Subiaco produced its best defensive performance of the year, holding a very disappointing Peel outfit to just two goals, as the Lions powered to a 52 point win.


It was equal parts strong Subiaco defence and poor Peel ball movement and attacking play that saw the Lions hold the Thunder goalless until early in the final quarter.

Leederville to Host Country Week on Friday with Goldfields Ready to Contend

Subiaco Colts won their fourth straight game and eighth of the season to ensure for one night at least, that Subiaco would have the three top teams on the ladder, a feat not achieved this late in the season before by the Lions.


By the end of the weekend, the Colts had fallen to second while a poor second half was costly for the Reserves as they slipped to fourth in a jam packed top of the 2018 WAFL Reserves ladder.

Subiaco is the first team to officially qualify for the 2018 WAFL Finals, with a hard fought 33 point win over West Perth on Saturday ensuring that the Lions will play finals for the fifth straight season.


After being made to work for every possession and score in the first half, Subiaco broke the game open with a typically ruthless burst, kicking four goals in time on of the third quarter.
