Future Looks Bright For Our Girls
43 players from Subiaco’s zone took part in the Female Development Squad program, which consisted of three matches.
Over the past couple of months, the playing group trained for eight weeks, in preparation for three games held over the September/October school holidays.
The side had two wins from three games, with the girls exposed to a higher standard of football as they continue their progression.
Women’s Football Operations Manager Matt Paddick said the program showed the depth of the club.
“Overall, the FDS program was a success, with the players involved gaining valuable experience, as well as life-long friendships,” he said.
“The skill level improved immensely in a short period of time, and everyone was eager to learn and get better.
“I see a number of players from this cohort advancing within our program to hopefully one day represent the club at Rogers, and even League level in the coming years.
“A big thanks to head coach Dane Edwards, assistant coaches Brad Haseldine, Stewart Horton, and Saira Dalal, physio Emma Jorgensen, and team manager Danielle Crawford for each playing their role in getting the group ready for the games.”
