WAFLW: Round Four Match Preview vs Claremont

Friday, March 31, 2023 - 12:18 PM

Subiaco's next task in season 2023 is an opportunity to formally announce themselves to the rest of the competition.

Against the reigning premiers Claremont, the Lions are looking to get back on the winners' list.

The clash will be played under the lights of Leederville Oval on Saturday April 1.

FORM

Subiaco took their first loss of 2023 against the Sharks in round three, but could hold their heads up high.

It was a hard fought battle, going down by only a goal.

It came after a strong win over the Swans, and a draw in round one against the Bulldogs.

The Lions are fifth on the WAFLW ladder, and are up against the top of the table Tigers.

Claremont are undefeated this season, so Subiaco will need to be at their best to take the win.

LAST TIME THEY MET

The Lions know what it takes to beat the Tigers, having taken the win the last time these two faced off.

In a low scoring contest, Subiaco won by 14 points.

Midfielder Madi Wilkins had a strong performance, with 21 disposals and five marks.

ONE TO WATCH

In any tough contest, it's important for your leaders to stand up.

It'll be no different for skipper Tarni Golisano.

She's leading the competition in disposals, and her defensive efforts will be important in quelling the impact of the Tigers' midfield.

She's averaging 23 disposals and five marks per game and will be key to the Lions' success.
