Friday, March 24, 2023 - 1:34 PM by Matt Paddick

After two strong performances this season, a clash against one of last year's finalists is a challenge the Lions will be looking forward to.

At Leederville Oval on Saturday March 25, Subiaco will do battle with the Sharks which is set to be an exciting contest.

FORM

The Lions are yet to give up a win season 2023.

After a nail-biting draw in round one, Subiaco stamped their authority on the competition with a 47-point win over Swan Districts.

It was a victory away from home that will give the side plenty of confidence going forward.

Meanwhile, East Fremantle had a rough start to the year, going down by a goal to Claremont.

However, the side regrouped and got back on track with a win over West Perth.

A win for either side is important for setting up their team for the year.

LAST TIME THEY MET

The last time these teams went head to head, it was one to forget for Subiaco.

The Lions were challenged, and beaten on the day, going down by 50 points.

On a tough day, defender Liana Burchell stood strong behind the ball.

ONE TO WATCH

Leading the Lions revamped game style this year is veteran Tiah Toth.

The former Docker has shown plenty of poise with ball in hand, and has been relentless with her defensive pressure.

She's laid 13 tackles this season, tied fourth in the competition, and has kicked two goals.

It shows she's capable of damaging the opposition on both ends of the field, and will play an important role come Saturday.
