Dewar selected by West Coast Eagles
Mines Rovers & Subiaco Football Talent, Tyrell Dewar has been selected by the West Coast Eagles in the 2022 AFL Rookie Draft.
Dewar has been on the rise throughout 2022, playing a pivotal role in the Subiaco Colts side as well as representing Western Australia in the Under 19 State Competition.
Departing Kalgoorlie in year 9 to attend Wesley College, Dewar has always used football as a vehicle to excel. Being selected into the West Coast Eagles Next Gen Academy before the age of 16, his talent has been evident throughout his short career.
Described by afl.com.au as “Indigenous talent with dazzling speed and natural goal sense. Has drawn comparisons with some of his traits to West Coast Eagles premiership forward Liam Ryan.”, the selection to West Coast should greet fans with enthusiasm.
Although this year has provided hurdles for Dewar, he has managed to maximise his opportunities with both Subiaco and the State Team, a credit to his tenacity and support network.
