In a continuation of off-season moves, Subiaco Football Club is thrilled to inform the appointment of John Mansbridge as the head coach of the Subiaco Colts for 2023.

With the former coach, Chayce Creedy, moving into a role with the Senior program, Mansbridge will take the reins with an extensive background in coaching Colts at Subiaco and the broader community.

Speaking with subiacofc.com.au Mansbridge said “it’s very exciting to be involved with Subiaco Colts again. It is different to coaching any other age group as you're not just developing footballers but better people”.

Formerly an assistant at Subiaco from 2019-2021, Mansbridge has seen the full potential of the Subiaco Colts and is looking to replicate the success of 2020. Calling on over a decade of Colts Coaching experience, he emphasised “I'm not looking to reinvent the wheel”.

With changes to the coaching staff, strength and conditioning and playing group, Mansbridge underlined the urgent need for relationship development “strong relationships equates to wins so that will be the priority at pre-season” said Mansbridge.

Aware of the success of 2022, the group is looking to take another step forward in 2023 but Mansbridge doesn’t see this as pressure “it’s a strong group, with the 2022 team and our futures coming through, but the messaging doesn’t change, relationships first and wins will follow.”

With just over a fortnight until the start of pre-season, the anticipation is palpable for staff and players alike. Mansbridge added, “I just can’t wait to get stuck in”.
