Subiaco FC joins forces with PCFA

The Subiaco Lions are proud to announce our partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia during Men’s Health Week.  We will be working with the PCFA through their “Walk for Him” initiative to help raise awareness and fundraise for the foundation over the next week.

The #WALKFORHIM challenge takes place during Men’s Health Week which is June 13th to June 19th to honor the 49 men who are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer every day in Australia.  The objective is to walk 49,000 steps throughout the week to show our support for the men who have been fighting this disease.  You may complete the steps however you want whether you are walking, running or hiking, every step counts.  The goal is to raise as much money as possible during this week to help men who have been diagnosed get better funding for research and to help men get life-saving medicine without having to pay out of pocket.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is Australia’s leading community-based organization for Prostate Cancer research, awareness and support.  They are working for a future where no man dies of prostate cancer.  The PCFA also works closely with families that have been affected by this disease.

Subiaco Football Club are participating in the #WALKFORHIM walk to fundraise and raise awareness for the cause.  We are hoping to raise up to $15,000 or more during the week and have everyone in our organization reach the 49,000 steps throughout the week.  We have started a team to raise money collectively.  With the finale set to be held on Sunday, June 19th we invite all Subiaco FC supporters to join us for a 500-meter walk to support Prostate Cancer.  The walk will have an arrival time of 9:15am at The Orange Box café at Leighton Beach.

To get involved with our team you can sign up here or stay tuned via our social media or through our website!  We encourage you to post about if you are walking for someone and tag us!  You can also get involved by spreading awareness to others in your community and by letting others know how to get help through the PCFA.
