WAWFL - Round 7 Recap

In Round 7 of WAWFL action last Sunday, Subiaco registered a win and a loss to finish the home and away season in second spot and earn a berth in the Semi-Final this Sunday. 

In the Lions' first match of the afternoon they all but confirmed the double chance when they defeated Swan Districts by 33 points. After a low-scoring first quarter where only one goal was scored between the two teams, the Lions scored 5.1 to 1.0 in the second term to lead by 33 points at half-time. Both teams scored five goals in the second half as Subiaco recorded win number six for the season. 

The Lions welcome their newest team member, Mark Adamson, who made his debut in this match.

East Perth clinched the minor premiership after a hard-fought contest with Subiaco that saw the Royals confirm victory in the last two minutes before going on to win by 24 points. For three quarters, the teams were evenly matched with just five points separating the teams before East Perth scored four goals to one in the final quarter to rubber-stamp victory.
