The last round of the 2021 Simply Energy Futures competition saw Subiaco away at Provident Financial Oval on a Friday night 16th of April, with the undefeated Lions going head-to-head with West Perth. Subiaco were run away winners with a huge team round effort and silky skills on display from the likes of Clark, Chapman and Collard.

The season consisted of six games, with a total of 45 players from the Subiaco metro and regional zones donning the Maroon and Gold in 2021. The Subiaco team went undefeated through the 2021 Simply Energy WAFL Futures competition, with a very talented squad representing the club.

Subiaco Futures Head Coach, Stuart Page said it was fantastic to see so many players get an opportunity at futures level for the football club and contribute to the overall success of the program. “We used 40 (players) in the first four games and we rotated nine or 10 players through each game, and it’s really pleasing to see representation from all of the community clubs.”

Talking about the Futures Talent pathway, “The main aim of the program is to get 15 and 16 year old’s in the Subiaco system and ready for WAFL Colts Football. It also works for some of the 17 year old’s who are not quite at the Colts level, with clubs able to play two – six 17 year old players each game to get them ready for the next level of football” said Page.

The Subiaco Football Club would like to acknowledge all futures players that played in the program this year.
