Subiaco clashed with South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Sunday afternoon to win by five points and kick off their season with four points locked away.  

Subiaco got off to solid start, kicking 3.4 in the first half, to lead by eight points at half time.

The Lions then kept South Fremantle scoreless in the third quarter, however, they weren’t able to capitalise as they kicked 1.6 in the quarter. The Lions were frazzled in the fourth, as South Fremantle kicked 3.2 to Subiaco’s 0.3, however, Subi were able to close it out in the end to secure the victory.

The win put the Women’s team third on the WAFLW ladder after one round.

Subiaco’s next game will be played against Peel Thunder in a Grand Final rematch at Leederville Oval on Saturday at 6.00pm

The Subiaco Women’s Rogers Cup team lost to South Fremantle away at Fremantle Community Bank Oval by 84 points, after being kept goaless for thre quarters by the Bulldogs.
