Meet our GM Football Operations, Kristian Dicton

Thursday, December 10, 2020 - 9:33 AM

He has only been the General Manager of Football Operations at the Subiaco Football Club for under a week, but Kristian Dicton is firmly committed to helping the club bounce back from a disappointing 2020 season.

Dicton joined Subiaco Football Club from the West Australian Football Commission, where he had spent the past two years as the Talent Manager for Subiaco. Originally from Dampier, ‘Dicko’ played and coached the Dampier Sharks, but most recently spent two years in Geraldton as Regional Development Manager then transitioned to Perth to take on the vacant Subiaco Talent Manager role at the end of 2018.

Kristian Dicton enjoyed Premiership success in 2020 with the Colts, and will look to apply the same principals to the senior team in 2021.

Players and staff will be challenged but provided with a positive high performance environment to train, play and a platform to get the most out of themselves” he said.

Looking towards season 2021, Dicton said “I am looking forward to getting a full season off the ground. For the league team we will be doing everything we can to get back playing finals football and for our reserves and talent programs; maintaining their recent form and continuing to compete deep into finals”.

The players are into their second week of pre-season with many players determined to further themselves this pre-season.

The boys have hit the ground running which is pleasing, having 16 colts pushing up into senior training is a plus. It’s always good to see an injection of youth to get the energy up in the group” said Dicton.

At this stage we have quite a large group but over the coming weeks we will look to slim down our list which isn’t always pleasant, but on the flipside, competition for spots is high and it pushes the group to hold high standards and show accountability with their teammates.”

Dicton isn’t the only new face around the football club this pre-season with new Strength and Conditioning Coach Michael Dobbin joining the Lions, with Jemma Bassi coming on board as Michael’s S&C assistant.

Maddison Oudman returns to the seniors after being with the colts the last few years as Head trainer.

Glen McCallum joins as Head coach of the reserves with Daniel Vidovich returning to the club as reserves midfield coach and also Jamie Battigelli as the reserves back’s coach.

Last but not least we have club legend, Darren Rumble, returning as our backs coach for the senior team.
