New additions to the Lions coaching ranks

Thursday, November 5, 2020 - 11:00 AM

The Subiaco Football Club would like to welcome some new faces to the club after joining the coaching panel for the 2021 Optus WAFL Premiership Season.

Darren Rumble
The club welcomes back Darren Rumble to Subi as the senior backline coach in 2021.

Rumble is a club legend! Throughout his 12 seasons and 229 games with Subiaco, the defender was rarely beaten.

Darren is the only WAFL player to win six premierships (2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2014, 2015) since the 1950's.

Rumble joins the Lions from the Gold Coast Suns where he worked in Player Development.

Prior to that, Rumble took up a role working with the WA State Academy.

Darren's experience on and off-field will be highly valuable to the senior team in 2021.

Glenn McCallum
Glenn joins the club as the Reserves Head Coach in 2021.

McCallum is a Past Player of the West Perth Football Club, and has experience coaching at community and WAFL level.

Glenn joins Subi after spending the last three years at South Fremantle Football Club working across the Midfield and Forward lines.

Off-field, Glenn is the owner/operator of Westmac Plumbing.

We welcome Glenn, Rachelle and family to Subiaco.

Daniel Vidovich
After a couple of years away from the club, we are excited to announce the return of Daniel Vidovich in a coaching capacity for 2021.

Daniel will be well known to the Subiaco Family as Football Manager over three years, culminating in the three-grade premiership success in 2018.

Daniel, now studying towards a teaching degree will take-up a role as a line coach with our reserves side in 2021.

His experience in football over a long time will be an asset to our group of emerging talent and he is looking forward to working with the young guys straight out of the successful colts premiership in 2020.

League Coaching Structure
There have been a couple of changes to the League coaching structure for 2021. Ryan Redfern has stepped down from his successful role with the forwards over a number of years at the club.

He has overseen the great development of some of our young players and steered our senior players to significant success in his time.

Jason Bristow will take up a role working on our stoppages and contested ball, in addition to being Chairman of Selectors. Nigel Hamilton will move into the Senior Midfield coach role and Paul Vines will be the Senior Forwards Coach.
