From Diggerdaws to Fremantle Oval
Mines Rovers (GFL) Footballer, Jack Gouge will make his Subiaco Colts debut this Sunday against East Fremantle in a Preliminary Final at the age of 16.
Jack has had an outstanding season for the U16 Subiaco Futures competition, the U16 WA state intrasquad games and most recently kicked three majors and helped Southern Cross Seniors to their first premiership in 19 years v Hyden.
There is a strong bond between the Goldfields Football League and Subiaco due to the link with WAFL regional zones, but this bond has helped create AFL Footballers such as Dom Sheed, Dean Kemp and Kyal Hosley. This extension with Jack has been due to the emerging Subiaco Lions Pride initiative where resources and support are given to the GFL and Esperance District Football Association to help bring young talented footballers into the WAFL System.
