FORM
The Lions are starting to get up and running in the 2020 Season, as they welcomed back some first-choice players last weekend in a strong showing away against Perth. The Lions form resembled something similar to the 2019 Premiership season as the moved the ball swiftly and effectively, scoring goals at will and dominating around the contest. Kyal Horsley was everywhere in his comeback game, recording 23 disposals, four marks and four tackles, with the ever-reliable Leigh Kitchin performing strongly by his side, collecting 20 disposals of his own to go with seven tackles. Jakob Atkinson performed strongly and adapted really well to his new role. The full-back turned ruck forward found plenty of the ball (18 disposals), pinch hit in the ruck and booted three majors to round out one of his best games of the season.

OPPONENTS FORM
East Fremantle has left their run to the Finals very late, having recorded just the single win for the season; way back in Round 2 against Peel Thunder. Their last three losses have come at a combined margin of just 15 points; suggesting the ladder perhaps isn’t an accurate representation of where the side is really at. Midfielders Jordan Snadden and Cody Leggett have been performing strongly this season, both averaging above 20 disposals so far. The head-to-head battle in the midfield will be enthralling as both sides look to gain the upper hand at the coalface.

LIST – EAST PERTH
Gains for 2020: Cody Leggett (Perth), Jordan Mills (West Perth), Brodie Riach (West Coast Eagles), Durak Tucker (Sydney Swans).
Losses after 2019: Sean Fletcher (work), James Harrold (Interstate), Joe Hebiton (Interstate), Jack Perham (Retired).

GOAL KICKERS
Last time the two teams played was in Round 13 of the 2019 Optus WAFL Premiership Season. Subiaco destroyed the Sharks, kicking 17 goals to 7 with Ben Sokol leading the way in front of goals. The forward was everywhere that day, kicking three goals from his 19 touches, reigning in a mammoth 11 marks for the afternoon. Doubles from Benjamin Newton, Ryan Borchet and Lachlan Delahunty capped off a dominant display that the Lions will be looking to replicate once again for this weekend’s fixture.

LAST TWO TIMES
Subiaco have been dominant over East Fremantle in recent history. Winning 17.14.116 to 7.4.46 the last time they met at Leederville Oval, having previously defeated them 13.12.90 to 7.3.45 when they played the away fixture at New Choice Homes park earlier in that season. The Lions average winning margin over the Sharks last year was nearly 10 goals, a margin that the Lions will be keen to replicate come this weekend.

OTHER GRADES
The Colts will kick off the day at Leederville Oval at 9:30am this Saturday, with the Reserves following suit at 12:00 midday. The women’s team will take on Peel Thunder this Sunday at Leederville Oval in a clash that will grant the winner direct passage into the 2020 WAFLW Grand Final.
