Mansbridge developing Colts into more than just good footballer

Subiaco’s Colts coach is hoping to shape his squad into good young men, not just good footballers.John Mansbridge, who took over the coaching role in 2023, is focused on developing his group of young men both on and off the field. He said the goal is to set them up with the building blocks for the rest of their lives.

Subiaco have shown their form is no fluke, having defeated the two grand finalists from last year in back-to-back rounds. After a strong win over Claremont last week, the Lions took down the 2022 WAFL Premiers West Perth, winning 9.12 (66) to 6.9 (55).

Futures: Subiaco completes another successful season

A new approach to the Subiaco Football Club’s Futures program has yielded similar success, whilst also creating innovation.

The Lions went 5-1 across the season, finishing second on the ladder on percentage. 67 players were included as part of the program, including 14 from Subiaco's regional zone in Kalgoorlie and Esperance.
