Futures: Lions maintain win streak

The ruthless Subiaco Futures took on Claremont after league on Saturday night at Leederville Oval in what turned out to be a blitz of goals for the home team.

First-quarter started well with big man Fin Henderson dominating the ruck and allowing the Subiaco midfield led by Mitch Bell first use of the ball and dominating the centre clearances. Inaccuracy was costly in the first half with Subiaco going into halftime 6.10 to 1.3.

Strong defensive efforts from regular defensive star Xavier Hickey and Bunbury recruit Max Sarre was able to negate any of the Tigers attacking opportunities. Koopa Walsh when to work in the second half finishing up with 8 goals taking his Futures total to 18 in 3 games.

Futures Head Coach commended the efforts of his team after the game noting their ability to stick to the Subiaco style of football and ability to apply strong pressure and high work rate.

This weekend Subiaco Futures take on Perth following the League preseason game at Lathlain Oval, stick around to see a number of our Kalgoorlie up and coming stars in what will be an entertaining match.
