What a cracker of a game to kick start round nine of the 2021 Optus WAFL Premiership Season, with the Lions demolishing Perth at Mineral Resources Park to come out 98 point victors and a handy percentage boost in what was clear but cold and dewy conditions under lights.

Sokol was on fire with six of the teams ten goals of the first half, with the midfield maintaining possession for a majority of the half and the Subi defence holding strong keeping the opposition to no score in the first quarter for the second week in a row, and no goals in the first half.

The second half has equally as impressive as the first, kicking 6.9 to 1.2 for the half. Subiaco finished with 55 inside 50’s for 29 scoring shots (55.17% accuracy).

Most impressively, Perth had 34 inside 50’s for the game, however the Subiaco defence kept the Perth forward line to only six scoring shots for 1.5 (16.67%).

Greg Clark was everywhere last night, accumulating a team high 42 possessions, three marks, three tackles and a goal. Lachlan Delahunty and Leigh Kitchin both finished with 30 disposals, one goal and six marks, with the latter recording two additional tackles for the game. The game finished with a season high 392 disposals for the Lions

Subiaco league enjoy a week off next week, before heading back to Leederville Oval to play West Coast on 19 June, with bouncedown at 2.10pm
