Pre-Season Match v East Fremantle
After plenty of intra-club matches and match sim over the pre-season, Subiaco came head-to-head with East Fremantle in their first of three pre-season matches prior to the round one Good Friday clash against Leederville co-tenants East Perth. The game was held at New Choice Homes Park in fine conditions with a slight breeze.
After a slow start, with Subiaco down by a goal in the first quarter, the Lions kicked three unanswered goals in the second to go 14 points up at half time. East Freo game out firing in the third; kicking three goals to one to put them within two points at the last break. However, Subiaco were too good, keeping the Sharks to a point in the last quarter whilst kicking 3.4.
The game finished with Subiaco on top by 23 points 8.12 (60) to 5.7 (37).
It looked as though the northern end of the ground had an advantage with the wind; with 11 goals of the 13 kicked at the northern end of the ground throughout the game.
Subiaco had range of goal kickers, with Borchet and Faraone kicking two goals each, 2020 Colts Premiership star Vanirsen and new recruit Holt kicked one. Clark and Sokol also added to the goal tally with one each.
A few Subiaco key players missed the opening game against East Fremantle, with some looking to play in next weeks clash against South Fremantle.
