Lions Recruiting Restrictions Cut

In the WAFL's Annual review of WAFL Rules and Regulations released in October last year, it stated that specific recruiting rules were applied to Subiaco Football Club for 2020 allowing the club to retain or replace current players, but not recruit additional players that are above one (1) point in value, according to the WAFL Rules and Regulations.

However last week, Scott Baker Executive Manager - WAFL & Football Operations at the West Australian Football Commission notified the club that the recruiting restrictions put in place ahead of the 2020 season will be removed, with no specific recruiting rule in place for Subiaco Football Club in 2021.

"I can confirm that the WAFC Football Affairs approved at Thursdays meeting for Subiaco FC to have their recruiting restriction that were put in place at the end of 2019 removed and for Subiaco FC to treated in line with South Fremantle, Claremont and West Perth. That is, the competition baseline of 100 player points and no recruiting restrictions other than those already apart of the WAFL Rules and Regulations" said Baker.
