WAFLW Match Preview v Swan Districts

This Saturday afternoon, Subiaco Women’s will clash with Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval with bouncedown at 3.10pm, as they look to go 3-0.

The Swans kicked Subiaco out of the finals series last year, so the Lions will be hungry to get the win and keep Swan Districts out of the top four.

Recent history suggests that this will be a tight contest with the teams playing each other four times, both winning two each.

 

Form

Subiaco is the only team undefeated in the 2020 WAFLW Premiership Season, with a nail-biting win against Claremont in round one and a hard-earned victory against reigning premiers East Fremantle in round two. The Subi team are establishing themselves as the team to beat after two rounds of the season already completed.  

Opponents Form

Swan Districts are currently sitting outside of the top four. After beating Peel Thunder by a goal in round one, they then clashed with Claremont in a highly competitive contest, in the end, the Tigers were too impressive and won 8.8 (56) to 5.5 (35).

Goal Kickers

Last time the two teams played was in the second week of finals, with Subiaco only managing to kick two goals for the game, with Miller and Tester kicking one-a-piece.

Last two times

Mixed results the last two times these two teams clashed, both at Leederville Oval, with Swan Districts and Subiaco both winning one each. Before the finals series where the Swans kicked the Lions out of the finals series, Subiaco scraped together a victory in round 11 to win by one point winning 6.6 (42) to 6.5 (41).
