Match Preview v Swan Districts

This Saturday, Subiaco will play their second game of the 2020 season, as they take on the Swans at  Steel Blue Oval with bouncedown at 12.40pm. 

Keen to get back on the winner's sheet, the Lions will be hungry to get the win this week and bounce back from the round one loss against Claremont.

Form

Subiaco had a round one clash against Claremont they would like to forget; after recording emphatic victories in both practice matches against East Perth and East Fremantle prior to round one. Subiaco will be looking to bounce back and pick up the four points against the Swans.

Opponents Form

Swan Districts currently sit bottom of the league table after losing to West Perth and Claremont in rounds one and two respectively. The Swans were in it against Claremont until Half Time, before the Tigers kicked seven goals to two in the last half. The Swans also faded in the last quarter against West Perth, kicking only one point in the final term compared the Falcon’s five goals.

Where its won

The game is going to be won in the middle, with Swans new recruits Sam Fisher, Frank Anderson, Tarur Bayok going up against the experienced line-up of Horsley, Newton, Kitchin for the first time.  Although only having 13 scoring shots, the Swans had 47 inside 50’s over the weekend compared to the Tigers 39, so the Lions will look to prevent the Swans entering into their forward 50 as much as possible.

Subiaco Reserves will kick off the day at 9.30am at Steel Blue Oval against Swan Districts. The Subiaco’s Women’s league team will also take on the Swans after the Men’s league game with bounce down at 3.10pm, while the WAFLW Reserves and Rogers cup will be played on Sunday morning followed by the Subiaco Colts at 2.40pm.
