Round 11 WAFLW Recap v Swan Districts

The league double-header at Leederville Oval on Saturday afternoon finished with Subiaco Women’s holding off a fast-finishing Swan Districts to take out the win by one point.

Bouncing back from their round nine defeat to Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval, the tough Subiaco Lions team responded at home with a 6.6 (42) to 6.5 (41) win.

AFL-listed players Dana Hooker and Hayley Miller were instrumental in the Subi midfield, helping the team edge out Swan Districts.

Beatrice Devlyn booted two goals for Subiaco, with McKenzie Dowrick, Jayme Harken, and Mary Roseingrave all kicking one.

Subiaco sit top of the WAFLW League ladder – one win and a sizeable percentage ahead of Claremont, with Swan Districts maintaining fourth position ahead of Peel Thunder.

Subiaco play 3rd placed East Fremantle at 7.10pm Sunday 3 August at Leederville Oval. East Fremantle are coming off a 65-point win against Peel, with seven individual goal scorers, and three goals to Roxanne Roux.
