Around The Club: May-June, 2017

It’s been a busy couple of months at the Subiaco Football club with the 10-1 Lions sitting on top of the WAFL.

Subiaco will welcome their 176th and 177th life members of June with captain Kyal Horsley and 2016 Outridge medallist Chris Phelan crossing the 150 game mark
.

The Lions also debuted two players over the stretch with Michael Braut and Adam Creeper stepping up to the standard. Football manager Daniel Vidovich said the young players’ performances were a testament to the system.

“We’ve been pleased with the amount of development players like Braut and Creeper have shown over the past 18 months. To make their debut this season is an outstanding achievement,

"There is a lot of depth within the squad and with the colts program continuing to improve and develop, it's a testament to all the coaches who put in a tireless amount of work to make it all happen." said Vidovich

Subiaco have used 34 players this season which is middle of the pack in regards to the WAFL standard. South Fremantle, West Perth and Swan Districts have all used less.

SUBI'S 18'S STATEMENT

Brayden Ainsworth, Ben Miller & Kyron Hayden were all valuable contributors in WA's thrilling one-point win over South Australia last week and will be needed against Victoria again this week at Domain Stadium. Ainsworth was named best on ground against SA, Hayden stiff armed his way through passages and Ben Miller used his big frame well.
