Subiaco would like to welcome Russell Smith back to club as the Director of Talent and Country Servicing.
Smith originally worked at the club from 2004-2009 in a range of roles including Junior Development Officer and Head of Talent Development.
Russell Smith returns after working overseas in Singapore and Boston over the past seven years and brings a wealth of experience.
“Russell has done the job previously and he’s well aware of the requirements to run the role efficiently. He’s a fantastic addition to the Subiaco Football Club.” said CEO Peter Capes
“Rusty was our talent manager for four years previously and he has extensive experience in the football industry. He was the premier talent person when he was involved with the club seven years ago and all of the same principles apply, he’s up to date with the current situation and ready to make an impact.”
Ex-CEO and Player Development Officer Jeff Lind will also assist Smith and will focus on strengthening the connection with our Goldfields and Esperance zones.
“He has a great lieutenant in Jeff Lind who returns to the club. He’s going to be on our talent sub-committee.” said Capes
“He’s highly experienced and will take over the country areas whilst Russell looks over the metropolitan zones and both will coordinate with Player Development Officer Neil Arnold to assure we achieve best practice.”
The Football Club were hoping to catch up with Russell for an interview but more important matters were at hand. Russ and Lucy welcomed their first child Louis Smith into the world on August 3. Congratulations and welcome back Russ.
