Around The Club: February 2016
- Thursday, 18 February 2016
Subiaco are at the business end of the pre-season and are utilising intra-club matches to prepare for West Perth on the 27th of February.
REPORT FROM INTRA CLUB #1
The Lions have been training hard on the home stretch with the goal to have a full side available for the first pre-season game against the Falcons.
Brad Stevenson and Matt Panizza have both recovered well from ACL surgeries and are returning to full training bit by bit. Stevenson is running with the main group and has impressed with his recovery.
Midfielder Simon Moore is be working hard to recover from an ankle injury and Clancy Wheeler & Brett Robinson are rehabbing their injuries rapidly.
Sometimes it’s hard to get a squad of 50+ healthy at the same time but S+C Dan Hiscock, Jeff King, Tanya Ferguson and the SFC Training Staff are doing a fantastic job.
The Subiaco senior squad had a special guest in their team photo with young Subi fan Kieran Cullinane sitting between captain Kyal Horsley and coach Jarrad Schofield. Kieran and his family have been supporters of the club since the 70’s and his favourite Subi player is/was Jason Bristow.
COCKIE TO COACH NICKY WINMAR LIONS
Subiaco Premiership player Adam Cockie has joined the staff as a District aid and will coach the Nicky Winmar Lions. Cockie returned to WA after playing four years for Sandringham in Victoria.
