Player Development Officer Neil Arnold and CEO Peter Capes visited Kalgoorlie for the GFL awards night to appreciate the country zone.

Kalgoorlie has a developed a rich connection with the SFC and provided a strong talent base of footballers over the years. There are currently eight players from Kal on Subiaco's senior list and five from Esperance including captain Kyal Horsley and premiership defender Scott Worthington. 


Another Worthington was recognised on Tuesday night with Scott’s mother Rhonda becoming the first woman to achieve life membership in the 100-year plus history of the league.

Rhonda Worthington was presented the award by GFL commissioners Hugh Gallagher, Jim Creedon and GFL President Gary Giles.

The club would like to thank the GFL for their warm reception especially Railways President Ben "Toy Boy" Sexton.

GFL Riklan / Kalgoorlie Miner Footballer of the Year– Ben Jenkins (Kalgoorlie City FC)  - (Ben played 1 game in round 23 with SFC Reserves) 

2015 GFL Mitchell Medal– Richie Bourne Jnr (Mines Rovers FC) This is the first time in GFL history where the Rookie of the Year has also won the Mitchell Medal.
