SFC 2015: RD 7 PREVIEW
- Friday, 01 May 2015
Subi started the 2015 season strong and have won comprehensively in every Round except Good Friday against rivals East Perth. After their depth was truly tested by injury the Lions prevailed winning four of their first five sit a top the WAFL.
The Demons have had a parallel journey in 2015 with new head coach Earl Spalding striving to grow the young list. Perth is eighth on the ladder and recorded their sole win against Claremont in Round Four.
The two sides met in a pre-season hit-out in March where the Lions won by a whopping 104 points. If that result is any indication to go off, Subiaco should have the edge in this Round Seven clash.
The Lions are the highest scoring unit in the WAFL with the combination of dangerous forward Shane Yarran and the versatility of players like Clancy Wheeler, Brad Stevenson, James Garcia and Rhys Waters. Subi are averaging 98.6 points a game this year and are still expecting the return of key forwards Matt Boland and Chris Deluca.
Perth however, is on the other end of the spectrum and have conceded the most points in the WAFL. A young, inexperienced Demons list have been exposed on multiple occasions including a 100+ point belting at the hands of East Perth last week.
