Colts can't catch Swans

The Subiaco Colts have recorded their worst tally of the season with a disappointing 72-point loss at the hands of Swan Districts.

The loss comes as the young Lions fifth of the season as they sit precariously in fourth position only above East Fremantle on percentage.

Greg Clark was a shining light for the Lions on an overcast day, starting fast and collecting 27 possessions and six tackles in one of his best Colts games.

The performance will surely have state selectors re-evaluating the athletic midfielders position in the WA State 18’s squad.

Rhys McAlister kicked two of Subiaco’s three in a quiet day for the forwards, Subiaco only recorded eight scoring shots to the Swans 30.

GAME CHANGERS:

FIRST HANDS:

Subiaco were well beaten to the ball in the 72 point demolition and coach Steve Armstrong would be demanding more desire from his players after their worst performance of the season. With a reasonably full-strength squad sporting key players Greg Clark, Max Walters, Adam Creeper and McAlister the Lions were overwhelmed in the possession and inside 50 key performance indicators.

SUMMERS MISSING:
The Colts dearly missed pacey winger Aaron Summers drive from the outside as they struggled to generate definitive forward entries. We wish Summers luck as he plays for Western Australia against South Australia in the State 18’s Carnival at Medibank Stadium today.

BESTRY TAKE TWO:
Another Bestry has begun his Colts journey with Zac making his debut against the Swans. Zac is the younger brother of Jordan, who developed into a dominant ruckman/utility at Colts level before graduating to seniors’ football last year.  With the young prospect standing at 192 centimetres and possessing great athleticism; we could see two Bestry’s making a name for themselves at the Subiaco football club in the near future.
