Stockley joins Lions

Subiaco has bolstered its ruck stocks ahead of a promising 2014 campaign by signing former West Perth big man Frank Stockley.

Stockley, 23, has played 26 senior games for the Falcons and kicked 18 goals. Subiaco Football Manager Luke Sanders says he’s a huge addition for the Lions future plans.

“To pick up a player of his size and mobility is rare, he’s fitted in well with the playing group and the coaches can’t wait to see him in a Lions Guernsey.” Sanders said.

Another new face at the club is Baldivis recruit Shane Yarran. The 24-year-old excitement machine played one game for the Lions reserves in 2013 and showed enough potential to be a future match winner.

“He’s got that X factor,” Sanders said.

“He’s lighting fast and a real smooth mover who can use the football well, he’ll be one to watch next season.”

Subiaco’s midfield has also been bolstered by the addition of another former Falcon in Joel Latham.

Changes to the coaching staff include the addition of Wayne Orsi as a senior assistant. From Claremont, Orsi will take charge of Subiaco’s defence.

After two years with the State 18’s program, Steve Wasley will take over as the league forwards coach while Ryan Redfern will replace Mark Enders as head coach of the reserves.
