The Colts have finished their season with an 11 and nine record to finish fifth after defeating the second place Claremont Tigers today at Claremont Oval.

Lions young gun Cody Grace lead the attack with five goals to tally a 12.8 80 to 9.11 65 win to run out 15 point winners.

James Garcia was a welcome return to the Colts side recording 27 disposals and nine marks ending his impressive year where it started.

Captain consistent Matt Turner had 21 touches aided by right hand man Charles Le Fanu who had 20.

The win is the Lions eighth out of ten games to round out an incredible end to the season which featured spectacular performances from goal-kickers Michael Wood, Cody Grace and Rhys McAlister and the midfield prowess of Kyle Halligan, Cam Wohiling, Will Fetherstonhaugh, Dom Sheed, Dylan Clarke and Charles Le Fanu

The Lions also played two younger ruckman Aidan Ietto and Adam Creeper who held their own against two of the best young talls in Colts football Hamish Murray and Darcy Cameron.

Influential Players:
Cody Grace:

Cody Grace finished his season with his biggest tally of the year, kicking five goals from eight kicks. The youngster has come a long way since elevating into the Colts program and looks ready built to be a dominant force in Colts football next year.

James Garcia:
It was a pleasure to have Garcia back in the Colts side one last time, as the 19 year old will elevate into senior football next year. The classy midfielder collected 27 disposals in his last game of Colts football along with nine marks and three tackles.

Cam Wohiling:
Wohiling’s best trait is probably his speed and tenacity around the ball. Both of those assets were on display today as he recorded 18 disposals and six tackles as a follower. Wohiling has had an outstanding season which included him playing senior football for the first time in his career. Is a total team player and we look forward to watching him as he elevates into senior football.

The main stat that stands out is Subiaco’s superior accuracy. Both sides had 20 scoring chances but the Lions accuracy rate of 60% propelled them above the Tigers and to victory.

Captain Matt Turner ended his Colts football career with one of this most impressive displays of the season. Turner recorded 21 disposals and seven marks against the Tigers but his efforts off the ball are what impress the most. The smallish midfielder is a gut runner who will hit a team-mate, run fifty metres and collect the next kick. We say goodbye to the honourable captain who will take a year off football next year to get his body right and hopefully return to senior football in 2014. Thanks for the memories Matty!
James Garcia returned to the Colts side, most likely just so he could collect another Dream Team award. His 27 possession effort gives him his fourth DT award of the season with 118 points.
