THANK YOU KINGSWAY & CENTRAL COUGARS
Kingsway & Central Cougars Roll Up In Big Numbers To WAFL Game
A big thank you goes out to the Kingsway and Central Cougars JFCs for the support they provided at the WAFL game last Saturday. With a crowd of 2700 attending, the junior players and their parents, siblings, relatives and friends made up some 500 of that crowd.
It is the aim of the WAFL clubs to work with their district and entice people to WAFL games with a them of it being "up close and personal". Those attending WAFL games get the experince of having a kick on the oval and seeing WAFL stars uop close. The WAFL is, after all, the breeding ground for for tomorrow's AFL stars.
Kingsway brought along their Auskickers and conducted activities at half time of the league game. Both Kingsway and an Central Cougars represented Subiaco's "gold" and "maroon" teams in the Little League game also conducted at half time of the league game. The support from these two clubs was outstanding and added to what was a very successful day for the Subiaco Football Club.
What was noticed was the numberr of children from African origins who were represent both of the Little league teams on saturday. Both Kingsway and Central Cogars have done an excellent job in engaging with their local schools to attarct these boys, who have never previously been exposed to our unique code.
The Lions District has been extremely proactive it implementing a number of indigenous and multicultural based programs that are achieving excellent community outcomes. Well done to Ben Haywood and Neil Arnold on continuing to promote the growth of football in the Subiaco District.
