You are invited to nominate any person(s) who fit the award criteria in your District.In 2008 we will be awarding an Volunteer Award in each of the 17 Metro and Regional Districts, with the overall 2008 RAC WA Volunteer of the Year announced at the 2008 Sandover Medal.
The RAC WA Volunteer of the Year will receive a trip for 2 to the 2008 AFL Grand Final, including Flights, Accommodation and Grand Final breakfast function.
Since the mid 80’s, the West Australian Football Commission has made "Volunteer Award" presentations to recognise those who have given long-term voluntary service to Australian Football at all levels. A similar presentation program will be held this year. Major recipients will be invited as our guests to the 2008 Sandover Medal, where they will be acknowledged for their efforts amongst some of Western Australia’s finest contributors.
Volunteers are the backbone of our great game, and underpin our competitions and environments through out football in our state. The RAC and West Australian Football Commission therefore asks you or your football body to submit the name or names of volunteers in your club, league or association who you believe deserve recognition for their time in our great game.
Criteria for selection are as follows:
a) Must have given notable voluntary service to Australian Football.
b) Must be a willing, voluntary contributor, having received no income from football (NB honoraria excepted).
c) Must be an ambassador for the game of football who acts and works for the best interest of the game, never bringing the game into disrepute.
d) Those making nominations should make no more than two nominations which should be prioritised (only a limited number of awards will be presented).

Nominations for "Volunteer Awards" are requested by August 1 2008; please click on this link to complete the Volunteer Nomination Form , supplying as much relevant information as possible. It is important to note that only a limited number of awards will be presented, and not all nominees will necessarily receive awards each year. Please note that should your nomination be successful, you may be invited to attend the presentation.
When completing the nomination forms please provide a full and comprehensive history of the volunteer’s service. Past involvement with clubs, other than the nominating club should be detailed. All details should be provided on the nomination form and attachments should not be included.
