Subiaco held its NAB AFL Auskick Gala Day on Saturday 7th June, with more than 650 children getting down to Des Penman Reserve, Nollamara.

Smarter than Smoking Development Officer Daniel Tincknell was very pleased with the way the day turned out.
"Out of our seven junior clubs numbers are up with Auskickers, and that is due to the work done in the schools through-out the district and the great support by the clubs,” he said.

WA Football Commission AFL Auskick manager Clayton Anderson, along with NAB State Representative Brad Stone, were present on the day and were extremely happy, with a massive 49 teams taking part. The support by NAB for the AFL Auskick program is fantastic, with the program continuing to grow from strength to strength.

Mr Tincknell said, “there is continued growth and knowledge of NAB AFL Auskick within the community, which is great to see.” "Going along to schools and asking the kids if they know what NAB AFL Auskick is, they all put their hands up," he said. "The awareness is huge!"

The support at the NAB AFL Auskick Gala Day by the Subiaco FC senior and colts players was fantastic, with 40 players including premiership stars Allistair Pickett, Marc Webb, Chad Cossom, Robert Forrest, David Mapleston and Chris Hood, help run the Gala Day.

Mr Tincknell said, "For the Subiaco FC to be there supporting the day is fantastic and it just shows the Subiaco district is taking great pride in their grass-roots football and where the future players are going to come from.”

Massive thanks must go to the Balga JFC , Central Cougars JFC and Nollamara AFC for their commitment to the program and the smooth running of the day. Also a big thank you to the Subiaco Golds who had the sausage sizzle firing all day.
