The colts notched up their third win of the season in an entertaining game on Saturday at Medibank Stadium.

Nothing could separate the teams for most of the game until we kicked away booting 10.11 (71) to South Fremantle 7.9 (51).

We started the game well kicking the first two goals of the game and dominated the quarter. We should’ve taken a few more chances and could have easily been up by more at Quarter time. South Fremantle fought back in the second to level up the scores until a great mark and goal from Kyle Cranley put us 7 points up at Half Time. Justin Joyce (13 Disposals) & Christian Bottechia (14 disposals) were fantastic in the first half.

After a much improved first half then in previous weeks the message was clear, we needed to keep the intensity up and not drop off. Our pressure on South Fremantle in the first half was fantastic & our ball use was the best we have seen all year. Our third quarters this year have been poor & the boys were keen to continue on from their good work in the first half.

Some great work by skipper Matthew Cullen (9 disposals for the quarter) set up Craig Hoskins inside 50 & converted to extended the lead. A candidate for goal of the year by Bryce Singleton who kicked his third for the game lifted the boys and went into the final quarter with a 2 goal lead.

We came out with a bang in the last as James Coe kicked truly to continue our momentum. A minute later Chris Deluca’s brilliant individual effort resulted in a goal and seconds later a snap on the run from Alan Jones put us 5 goals up all in the matter of a couple of minutes which snuffed out any chance of a South Fremantle comeback.

Subiaco                        10.  11 (71)

South Fremantle            7.  9   (51)

GOALS: Singleton 3, Jones, Norriss, Cranley, Hoskins, Deluca, Garcia, Coe
